Breathing Space Day 2009

What's the point?

Breathing Space Day 2009 (BS09) takes place on Sunday 1st February and will focus on the theme What’s the point?.

BS09 includes the ‘Breathing Space Hour’ hosted by TV’s Kaye Adams in the main foyer of Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum from 1pm – 2pm on Sunday 1st February.

Tony McLaren, National Coordinator of Breathing Space Scotland said “What’s the point? - it’s a question that many of us have asked ourselves at some stage and is particularly relevant in these current credit crunch times.

“By asking this often difficult question it provides an opportunity for reflection and a chance to find the resources that can top up our emotional bank account in order to provide support when challenging times come our way."

Rod Jones, Guitarist with Scots band Idlewild will be performing at the Breathing Space Day event in Glasgow adds “For many people music can be a way of taking breathing space and so I’m delighted to be taking part in the ‘Breathing Space Hour’.

“Breathing Space Day is trying to make people more aware of the importance of taking some time out for themselves in order to keep a check on their mental wellbeing, it can be really simple as listening to some music or reading a book or chatting to a friend.”
